BSnUws to Continue, Post on YikYak

MUNCIE, Ind. -  In the wake of Instagram’s abrupt and unexplained suspension of the BSnUws page , BSn is officially relocating its updates and community engagement to a new platform: YikYak.      While the sudden removal of the Instagram account left many followers without their usual source of hyperlocal news and satire, BSn remains committed to keeping the student body informed, entertained, and connected. The new YikYak community will serve as the next chapter in BSn’s digital presence.      To join the community, click here.    Alternatively, visit  go.ly/bsn  in your browser.       YikYak is a location-based, students-only social media app that allows users to post and engage anonymously. The platform has grown in popularity on college campuses for its candid, unfiltered style of communication: a perfect fit for our satire stories.

BSnUws, Owner Suspended from Instagram

MUNCIE, Ind. -  No, this isn't satire. Yes, this is serious. BSnUws, and its owner, have been suspended from Instagram as of 9pm tonight.     I,  who independently owns and operates BSn, had a personal, private account on Instagram. I used it to communicate with friends, share photos, and speak up about social issues without using my professional account that ties back to my name.      Someone disagreed with something I said, and abused a reporting feature intended to protect children. As such, my personal account was suspended.       And, like a domino effect, my professional and business accounts were suspended as well. This includes BSn's account.     As of the time of publication,  I have zero access to the BSn Instagram page. I've been able to request an appeal for all my accounts, except for my personal one, which is unrecoverable. Instagram kept asking for my phone number, and even wh...

Amy from Amy’s Baking Company Sues Be Here Now for Trade Dress Infringement

MUNCIE, Ind. - Amy Bouzaglo, infamous owner of the now-defunct Amy’s Baking Company —the only restaurant Gordon Ramsay ever walked out on during Kitchen Nightmares —is reportedly suing Be Here Now for trade dress infringement.     Bouzaglo alleges that Be Here Now has shamelessly copied her signature brand of digital hostility, pointing to their aggressive replies to negative reviews—mainly screenshots from Barstool Ball State 's post of their reviews —and their meme-laced response to local band Leisure Hour’s public exit.       The band claimed the venue was "not a safe space for us or our fans" due to its support of a known predator—only for Be Here Now to double down by launching what it calls its "Leisure Hour Daily Specials."     Bouzaglo argues this unhinged PR spiral mirrors the chaos that made Amy’s Baking Company infamous, back when her own responses to criticism were so volatile that not eve...

UPD Alleged to Appoint Peppa Pig as New Officer Amid Upcoming Protest

MUNCIE, Ind. - In a last-ditch effort to  gain good press before the academic year ends, the Ball State University Police Department (UPD) alleged to appoint children’s TV star Peppa Pig as a new officer.      This decision follows the arrest of five protesters at a previous board meeting, in addition to having four UPD cars parked outside the Administration Building during a flash protest supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives that the university has cut.       Some students view UPD as out-of-touch and doing too much.      So, what does UPD do to fix their reputation? Hire Peppa Pig. Despite failing her training and writing "I love muddy puddles" on every question for her entry exam, Peppa somehow got the job.      The hire comes ahead of a May 2nd protest regarding DEI cuts, Board Member Brian Gallagher, and the university’s financial investments in Cisco and Car...

Muncie PD Sends Court Summons to All Ball State Geese after Parent Lawsuit

MUNCIE, Ind. - In an unprecedented legal maneuver, the Muncie Police Department has begun posting official court summonses at various locations across Ball State University’s campus—specifically, at the favorite hangout spots of the university’s infamous Canadian Geese.      This comes after an anonymous post to a Facebook Ball State parents group, saying their child has been attacked by a goose.       "We are taking legal action. This is out of control! Now we have a big fat ambulance and ER bill," the parent posted.     While no court records are available, it appears the parent is suing the geese collectively, instead of the university.      Early this morning, a large group of Ball State alumni, along with the Kratt brothers from the PBS Kids show "Wild Kratts," have been spotted surveying the campus for geese, jotting down their exact coordinates.       Now, th...

"Kids Drink Free:" Be Here Now Chooses Chaos Over Damage Control

MUNCIE, Ind. - While Be Here Now is currently under fire for reportedly supporting a predator, the response from the venue has been... something .     Leisure Hour , a band, posted to Instagram 3 days ago, calling out the venue. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Leisure Hour (@leisure.hour)             "It was made obvious to us and the other performers that [the predator] has a close relationship with the staff and owner, Whitney Lewis," the band posted. "[W]e felt it was not a safe space for us or our fans and we will never be performing at Be Here Now again."    Be Here Now proceeded to post a Winnie the Pooh graphic to its Instagram page, reading "Doing nothing often leads to the very best something."      And yet, they are not doing nothing. Earlier today, the venue posted a photo of its sign completely stripped of letters, as if scrambling fo...

"We Do Not Care," Says University that Alleges to Care

MUNCIE, Ind. - In a  disappointing turn of events, Ball State University has arrested five peaceful protesters.       On February 28th, 2025, five protesters were arrested at a public board meeting for "disorderly conduct." The conduct? Holding signs and speaking out against board member Brian Gallagher, who has been called out for sexual harassment and retaliation during his time at United Way .      A video on Instagram posted by Ball State for Palestine , the Ball State YDSA , and the Muncie Liberation Studio states that six protesters were dragged out, with four being detained without information of charges or bail.   View this post on Instagram A post shared by Ball State for Palestine (@bsu4palestine)      A YikYak user has claimed to reach out to the American Civil Liberties Union of Indiana about the incident, citing a violation of the First Amendment.  ...
