MUNCIE, Ind. - Amy Bouzaglo, infamous owner of the now-defunct Amy’s Baking Company—the only restaurant Gordon Ramsay ever walked out on during Kitchen Nightmares—is reportedly suing Be Here Now for trade dress infringement.
Bouzaglo alleges that Be Here Now has shamelessly copied her signature brand of digital hostility, pointing to their aggressive replies to negative reviews—mainly screenshots from Barstool Ball State's post of their reviews—and their meme-laced response to local band Leisure Hour’s public exit.
The band claimed the venue was "not a safe space for us or our fans" due to its support of a known predator—only for Be Here Now to double down by launching what it calls its "Leisure Hour Daily Specials."
Bouzaglo argues this unhinged PR spiral mirrors the chaos that made Amy’s Baking Company infamous, back when her own responses to criticism were so volatile that not even Gordon Ramsay could salvage the business.
In an alleged email, Bouzaglo told BSn that Be Here Now is "nothing but thieves! THIEVES! They stole my style, my voice, my divine rage—AND THEY’RE PROFITING OFF IT!"
In the alleged lawsuit, self-filed by Bouzaglo without an attorney, Bouzaglo said that Amy's Baking Company "went viral because I told the TRUTH and people couldn’t handle it. They’re going viral because they’re frauds playing dress-up in my madness. I AM THE ORIGINAL NIGHTMARE!"
Be Here Now has yet to respond to the alleged lawsuit.
While the owner Whitney, via the venue's Facebook page, posted a statement on March 16th regarding Leisure Hour's public exit, claiming that "both parties share guilt in prolonging the issue," Whitney appears biased to the patron Leisure Hour called out as an alleged predator. Whitney called himself "a fan of this person," and referred to him as "a stand-up dude," "an asset," "humble, respectful, and has been dating one of our staff for 6 months now and is lifelong friends with our longtime Muncie Famous doorman Jay."
