A Campus Celebrity: BSnUws Exclusive Interview with Frog Boy

 

MUNCIE, INDIANA - There's a lot to see in Muncie. Alumni may remember Frog Baby, however a new frog has entered the city. Although he hasn't released an official name, campus has started refering to him as "Frog Boy". Blowing up on social media platforms Snapchat and Yikyak, Frog Boy, a freshman, has made a name for himself before classes have even started.

BSnUws was able to track down, contact, and secure an exclusive interview with Frog Boy via Instagram. You can only find this interview right here, right now, on BSnUws.blogspot.com.

BSnUws (BSn): "First things first, what inspired you to wear the legendary frog hat? Is it a fashion statement? A lifestyle? Something more?"

Frog Boy (FB): "So back in January my friends got me into airsoft, and I wanted to make an impression, so I bought the frog hat. Definitely made an impression also a fitness influencer named mexipinofit on Instagram inspired me as well. But it was just a gag in high school, and I'm having more fun here."

BSn: "BSnUws has received inside info that an application for a Frog Club has been submitted to Student Affairs. Was this your doing?"

FB: "No it was not. If i actually had a choice to do something like that, it would have been an Airsoft club."

BSn: "We've seen you all over Snapchat and YikYak, but where else can we find Frog Boy? There's already been some Frog Boy spottings; is there somewhere you like to go on campus, or would you rather enjoy people not knowing?" 

FB: "I have Instagram and Snapchat. I have zero idea what YikYak is. But I like going to the cafes and my dorm, but there is a chance you can always find me by Frog Baby." 

BSn: "What's your story behind the frog hat? Did you chose it, or did it chose you?"

FB: "The hat definitely chose me. I was looking for funny hats on Amazon, and it just spoke to me." 

BSn: "Is there a deeper meaning to Frog Boy? Are you channeling the spirit of frogs, or is this just your way of hopping through college life?"

FB: "The hats just a confidence booster. I already asked some girls for their snap in my hat and got turned down. But I do like to believe in a Frog God."

BSn: "What's the next big thing for Frog Boy?"

FB: "Starting classes and seeing everyone who will be my study buddies." 

BSn: "What do you say to those who claim that the frog hat is just a phase? Is Frog Boy here to stay?"

FB: "So, the hat to me is not a phase it's something will always have. I do everything with it like work out, play ultimate frisbee etc. Its also a very essential part to my airsoft kit. but most importantly its just a confidence boost for me because i know if i can go out wearing something as great as that I can do anything."

BSn: "Finally, if you could give one piece of advice to the Ball State community, what would it be?"

FB: "Always put studying and mental health first. Don't let what other people think of you wear you down because in the end we all have a separate path we take. I would like to end off with a quote from one of my favorite childhood video game character, Sonic: 'Every world has its end. I know that kinda sad but...that's why we gotta live life to the fullest in the time we have.'"

BSn: "Thank you so much for your time!"

FB: "No problem. I will say my time here on campus has been pretty fun and its only been a week!"

The Atrium to Follow MyPlate Standards, Limiting Vivimos and Adding Salad Bar

  MUNCIE, INDIANA - Inspired by the old MyPlate initiative pushed in K-12 schools, Ball State Dining has taken inspiration, making groundbreaking changes to The Atrium. These changes include less availability at Vivimos, an additional salad bar, and the most important meal of the day no longer being served. A post circulating Instagram and YikYak from a student food reviewer shows that that Vivimos is now part of the "Rotating Cuisine" menu, only offering burritos, burrito bowls and nachos. A salad bar was also introduced. Breakfast, however, is no longer an option. A spokesperson for University Dining told BSnUws that they were "inspired by Becoming by Michelle Obama" to "implement the classic MyPlate standards from back in our day".
