MUNCIE, Ind. - In a disappointing turn of events, Ball State University has arrested five peaceful protesters.
On February 28th, 2025, five protesters were arrested at a public board meeting for "disorderly conduct." The conduct? Holding signs and speaking out against board member Brian Gallagher, who has been called out for sexual harassment and retaliation during his time at United Way.
A video on Instagram posted by Ball State for Palestine, the Ball State YDSA, and the Muncie Liberation Studio states that six protesters were dragged out, with four being detained without information of charges or bail.
This incident has made the Ball State community feel unheard.
Administrators administrating for the university that routinely has been making decisions that harm the student body fictitiously stated that they simply don't care.
"We do not care," an administrator fictitiously told BSnUws. "The voices of our students are not a priority here."
We fictitiously reached out to President Mearns. His comment was no comment.
